An ode to‘All Creatures Great and Small’ of the Great British isles. As rainbow shades of light slant over the map, graphically beautiful animals and insects are brought into focus. From the hamlets, villages, towns and cities of the country come ravens, house cats, Royal Swans and brown rats, yet outnumbering them by far are their bucolic country cousins: the field mouse, the skylark, the Common Blue butterfly, the badger, the Gloucestershire Old Spot pig, the March hare, the Stag deer, the Herdwick sheep, the wild Atlantic salmon, all traversing the landscape, spanning ditches and hedgerows, meadows and woodlands, valleys and mountains, streams, lakes and rivers, cliffs, estuaries, bays and seas. Some of Kristjana’s creatures wear extravagant headdresses and attest to triumph over adversity, by means of evolution.
