Percy Robertson was born in Bellagio, Italy, in 1868, and was a watercolour painter and etcher. In the 1881 census he was living with his father, Charles (who was a painter and engraver), mother, brothers and sister in Meadrow House (next to the Wyatt Almshouses), Farncombe. A blue plaque records that Percy Robertson lived there, and the house still stands today.

In 1887 Percy was elected to the Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers (now the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers or RE), and his father, Charles, two years earlier in 1885. Percy was then aged 19 and was already exhibiting his work. In 1908 full Fellowship of the RE was given to Percy.

Percy exhibited 13 works at the Royal Academy between 1890-1904. He painted and etched in Surrey such places as Guildford from St Katherine’s Hill (1891), Shere (1899), and Albury (1905).
